Suggest Treatment For Tenderness And Pain In The Wrist
Hi my father woke up 2 days ago with a very tender wrist, reports a flare like this 2 years ago, no fall involved. Does drive and write a lot, if helpful. Not the best diet. Cant tell how to best to treat, by the time we get appt with an internal MD Monday they may refer out taking more time. Not sure if its orthopedic or GOUT simply any insight ?
Noted the history about your Father suffering from flare up of tender wrist 2 days ago which make him wake up from the sleep, had similar attack 2 years ago. Since he can not have an immediate appointment with the internal Medicine Doctor I would advise him the following: Go to ER for clinical evaluation and investigations of blood and MRI of the wrist to know the cause, severity , possible complications and so on. This will allow to get best medicines to control over the flare up and make things better. Further management as per the findings and opinion of an Orthopedic Surgeon should be done, followed up well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
