Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I had a bad fall last week and have a deep abrasion on my knee that is slowly healing. The area below my knee- my leg tingles and is tender- especially when touched with pressure. The tenderness was felt at that the time that I fell and has not increased (nor significantly decreased) Is this normal with healing?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have tenderness in the knee . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like Chondromalacia, Bursitis, Patellar Tendonitis, Arthritis, Osteochondritis or Ton Menisci . I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, CT Scan , blood tests, Electromyogram etc as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory , recommend physical therapy which will be very helpful or surgery to repair meniscus . For now take proper rest , apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
