Hi doctor, I m a bit worried about the pain on the upper left side of my chest. This has been going on about 5 yrs now and the pain may last for 5 seconds. There are days when I feel perfectly fine but I notice the pain is more frequent before my period or when I m stressed or anxious. I admit I m really a nervous wreck and I try to relax by working out and getting a massage. Sometimes the pain radiates to my left arm or to my back. I drink coffee everyday (not black) and other caffeinated beverages and for a month now I ve been drinking detox water (lemon, cucumber and mint leaves) which I feel aids in my digestion. By the way, I have hyperacidity and was diagnosed with acute gastritis last 2003. I visited 2 cardiologists last year and underwent 2d echo, ekg and treadmill stress test and the results were perfectly normal. I m just a bit worried because when we had an annual physical exam in the company I work for, my chest xray result showed that I have slight left cardiomegaly. Is this what causes my left chest pain? What may be the reason fot this when my cardio results showed my heart is normal? Please advise.Thanks.
