Suggest Treatment For The Cord Loop Around Baby During Pregnancy

I am curretly 37 weeks pregnant. scan done at 35 weeks showed everything normal but there is a cord loop around babys neck.My cervix is has shortened compared to the previous scan and doctor told my due date would be a little early(actual on july 9th).She has asked to watch baby movements by lying on left side but i feel movements more when i sit rather than lying down. Is there anything to worry ? is normal delivery possible? Doctor told only if in the last minute when the baby comes down there is some cord tightening they have to do a cesarian.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM
I understand your concerns.Cord around the baby neck is very common in last trimester. As such it doesn't cause any problem to the baby. But make sure that you keep a count on baby's movements daily.

Consult your gynecologist immediately if movements decrease.

As your cervix is short and if cord prolapses at the term ,it will be an emergency and you may end up in caesarean section. But it doesn't happen you are well for the normal delivery.

Wishing you a safe confinement.

Thank you
