hello doctor,i am 40 yrs old,155 cm height and weighing63 kg. i have two children and a history of irregular periods. now whenever the period starts, it too much bleeds and doesn't stop for 10-15 days. yesterday i consulted a gynecologist and she did ultrasound scan and said my endometrium is thick and prescribed tablet primolut N for two weeks. today the bleeding has reduced.my question" is it called hormone replacement therapy? if so can i have an alternate therapy to treat my symptoms? thank you

Hi dear.Thanks for posting your query on HCM forum.
Irregular bleeding is a premenopausal symptom. The periods are irregular as you approach menopause and cycles stop once the menopause is attained.This is not hormone replacement therapy.
Primolut N reduces the bleeding and tries to regularize the cycles before menopause.Hope this answers your query.
