Suggest Treatment For Thick Salivation With Nausea

Good morning.. I am a 40 y/o female, for the past week I have had excessively thick saliva to the point that it makes me nauseated and I vomit. I am having alternating hot and cold flashes with it like chills. I do not have a fever and I thought it was a stomach bug but its lasting too long. I also, can t stand a lot of food oders or tastes either of late. (p.s. I am a medical professional so you know how hard it is for us to ask for help. : )~ Thank you)

Hello,

You may be suffering from dehydration or Sjogren's syndrome with hot flashes.

You have managed it like a syndromic approach. Drink plenty of liquids. Check for postmenopausal symptoms.

Take a soft diet, do regular exercise.

Check for thyroid profile, FSH and LH levels. Anti Ro and anti-La antibodies in Sjogren's.

Eat papaya may reduce the thickness of saliva.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
