Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
out of the blue I have a throbbing pain on my left foot on my second toe. I haven t bumped it or bruised it but it has flared up twice in the last 2 weeks. Never had a problem before. I took Advil the first time and it took awhile but it went away ( like maybe 2 whole days). Last night around 3am the pain woke me up. Again took Advil and this time raised my leg/foot on a pillow and slept the rest of the night with throbbing pain and woke up around 6am and it was subsided. Now, today there is no pain but that toe feels like there is something on the bottom of it. I have examined the toe and it shows nothing out of the norm. When touched when the throbbing is present the toe hurts....and now it just has like a soreness at a touch. Concerned about what this is all about. I am 5 10. 185 lbs. I am a cyclist (road) I can ride 25-40 miles at a time but been in active for the last month because of schedules. I never broke anything, not do I take Any medicines and BTW I am 59 years old. Any thoughts? Thanks
* As per my clinical experience, severe throbbing pain in toe may be related to: - Acute ligament spasm or strain particularly involving flexor or extensor of the toe - Gout exacerbation - Pressure over particular potion for a long period of time pausing nerve compression
It is best recommended to consult your doctor and follow basic advise till that period for primary relief: - Local application of heating pad - Use lignocaine or caspaicin cream - Analgesic tablet as tramadol hydrochloride after meals
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
