Suggest Treatment For Thyroid Dysfunction With High ACTH Evels
hello,i'm 45 yrs old and has been literally suffering from thyroid dysfuction,diagnosed with Hashimoto disese since 06/2010 .has been taken synthyroid 50 mcg since but most of my symptoms remain.i should also tell you i also have increase ACTH and Cortisol.i've gained nearly 30 lbs and is depressed,with foggy brain decreased concentration and extreme musle pains and fatigue, alopeci and whloe host of other symptoms help if you can,please

I have gone carefully through your query.
Regarding to Hashimoto thyroiditis i would recommend to check the TSH level. If it is within the normal ranges than the dose of levothyrooxine is correct.
High ACTH and cortisol levels require further radiological exams such as:
MRI of the head, to confirm a tumor of the pituitary gland that should have caused the high ACTH and cortisol level.
