Hi I live in Florida and was bitten by either a spider or stung by a wasp today and experienced an anaphylactic response. I did not see what bit me. The wound is on my right inside ankle and there are two punctures, one larger, the other smaller. It occurred in our yard on the grass. I experienced the same thing two months ago in the same exact spot on my ankle. This time, within 15 minutes of the event, I began to experience tingling all over my body and then the severe itching began. By the time I arrived at the emergency walk in clinic 40 minutes from the event I was covered in red hives. They administered a steroid and benedryl IM, then after checking on my 10 minutes later, administered epi in my right arm. I remained at the clinic for another hour where they observed me then I left. I was told to take another benedryl at 6 hours which I did. It is now almost 9 pm and the wound area is swollen with a large red circular area, almost ring shaped, forming from the bottom of my foot, to beyond my ankle and to the wound site. My question is - should I head to emergency in case it is a poisonous spider or wait and watch until tomorrow morning?
