Suggest Treatment For Tinnitus For A 38-year-old Male

Hello, I am using Sofradex for my ear, being told by the nurse that I have a skin infection. I am on my first day of dosage and have applied 4x 3drops today. However my pain seems worse at the minute, plus ,y ear feels blocked as if I have too much fluid in it and my ear pops of a move it around a little but soon feels blocked with fluid again once I stop. I suffer with tinnitus and otherwise I am a healthy 38 white male with no other symptoms. Have taken parcetomol for the pain but only seems to take the edge off and am struggling to sleep. Please advise.

Hi,

Initially the use of ear drops can cause an increased pain but if the pain is severe, you may need to be reassessed. Oral medication may be needed instead. You can consider adding Ibuprofen to the paracetamol to help deal with the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
