Lately feel tired easily and my body feel weak. What the symptoms regard the test result.
Hello! Thank you for your question on HCM! Regarding your concern (body weakness and easy tiredness) first of all we should check cardiac function and exclude heart failure. Did you experience myocardial infarction at the time of angioplasty (2011). A cardiac ultrasound and physical exam could rule out heart failure. Body organ dysfunction (lungs, liver, thyroid, kidney, etc) should be excluded systematically performing respective lab function tests. A myopathy should be ruled out also (CPK, etc). A potential inflammation should be explored too (PCR, etc). If nothing results from the above strategy then we have to exclude functional disorder (depression). Easy weakness and tiredness may be an expression of depression. Some question may help to discriminate: What do you think about your life expectancy? Do you enjoy your daily activities? Do you have sleep disturbances? Does you illness have influenced on you prior daily lifestyle? If no optimistic answers result from these, I recommend you to talk to a psychiatrist for an appropriate antidepressive treatment. Hope to have been helpful. Greetings from Dr. Iliri
