Hello
Welcome to Healthcare Magic

Your concern about your husband is right. Smoking has many adverse effects on body.
Your husband also has arteritis which is also a risk factor for future problems.
Smoking reduces body immunity and will lead to impaired resistant to infection.
It also causes plaques in arteries and reduces the size of main arteries of heart. This will affect arterial size and reduces blood flow.

So please advise your husband for quitting. Consult your psychiatrist for quitting process and also for replacement therapy. Do proper exercise and eat healthy and balance diet.
