Suggest Treatment For Tonsil Problem

My right tonsil always appears to be more swelled than the left even when not sick. About four years ago I had an itchy throat, like before a cold, but the doctor I went to said my urine came back fine and to sleep it off. I went home and followed his instructions, three days later I still hadn t been awake for more than 5 minutes and had only drank about a quarter glass of water because I could barely swallow. When I arrived at the hospital they told me my throat was almost closed and I was lucky to be breathing, I also had a fever of 102. After numerous tests we were all still very unsure what was wrong *I tested negative for strep throat, no pneumonia or allergies) but my white blood cell count was through the roof. They put me on steroids and antibiotics and painkillers and in less than 48 hours the swelling went down enough to eat jello and they let me go home with liquid morphine and antibiotics. I have not been hospitalized due to this issue since but recently I have had a similar itch in my throat. Aside from the irritated veininess, it usually looks like it does now since my visit to the hospital. I m scared of doctors and haven t shown any the issue... Is it possible to just get them removed and eliminate the stress? Do you have any suggestions? I would add a picture but I don t think it s possible on this site.

Hi,
It is possible that there might be having varying size of two tonsils.
If there is no infection often it is not necessary to go for removal of tonsils.
This problem started after long time, there is less chance of having chronic tonsillitis and tonsillectomy might not require.
If require go for one antibiotic medicine course if t your doctor thinks of having some infection.
Ok and take care.
