Suggest Treatment For Tonsillitis

Been diagnosed with tonsillitis yesterday given antibiotics.
Have temp of 38.
Feeling so cold.
Affecting my sleep.
Feels like it's making me snore
Have very swollen tonsils with white and yellow patches starting to get some black patches too.
Managed only 500ml of water since yesterday lunch time

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that you have pustular tonsillitis that is causing white and yellow patches on tonsils along with pain..
It can be either due to bacterial or viral throat infection..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like Augmentin OR Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain. -----Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
