hi i have had tonsillitis for a little over a week now, most all of my symptoms are gone but a bit of white pus remains on my tonsils and they seem to still be swollen. I was wondering if this is normal in the healing process and if it will eventually disappear within the next day or two.
hello, The white pus could be follicles filled with debris or infected material. The tonsil has many crypts ie spaces on its surface which gets filled either by the food material from outside or there is discharge of infected material from inside the crypts. If the pain and redness has gone then---NO need to worry for that it will be gone soon . just continue gargles .and take full course of antibiotics. In doubt do reply.
