Suggest Treatment For Tooth Infection And Pain On Gums

I had a tooth infection for 3weeks at the root with a pouch toward the outside of gum. Visible. I had the tooth pulled Thursday and today (Saturday) the gum appears to have split in the same area...upwards on the outer side Almo almost feels like it s up to the bone...will it heal for eventually getting dentures? Is it normal and fixable?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to Health Care Magic Team.

Understanding your concern.

Tooth infection along with swelling as decribed by you was the probable case of tooth abscess.

As you underwent extraction for that tooth and gum injury is there till the level of bone and there is split over there which means thumb pressure was not applied properly after extraction of your tooth due to which normal alignment has been disturbed.

For adjustment of denture shape of gums should be proper. If its large area of exposure then you should go for stitches in that area that will provide better healing and shape effects which will help denture adjustment in future best.

Take antibiotics and warm saline rinse.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
