Hi i have been suffering with toothache, sore throat & ear ache for about 5 days now. I went to the dentist and she said i needed strong painkillers and they dont seem to work. I have had nights of lost sleep because of the pain. ive been looking at my mouth and noticed white marks around the back of my mouth, tonsils and throat. is this something I need to go back to the doctors for?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain toothache, sore throat and earache can be due to tooth infection, in case if it is a back tooth or molar tooth then the pain can radiate to ear as well as throat..

There is also a possibility that white marks at the back of mouth, throat and tonsils is due to throat infection and the white spots seems to be pus..

Yes, you need to go to a dentist as well as an ENT expert..
For toothache you can be advised an x ray of the painful tooth and in case if it can be saved then root canal treatment of tooth followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help...
In case if it cannot be saved extraction can be done..

If sore throat and earache are not due to tooth problem and there is infection then a course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, warm saline gargles, steam inhalations, and using a humidifier can help..
Sucking throat lozenges can relieve the throat..
Sip on plenty of warm water..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
