Suggest Treatment For Torn Medial Meniscus

I just had a MRI of my left knee, which I have had prior surgery on for a torn medial meniscus. The findings were as follows: Free edge horizontal tear of the midbody and posterior horn with involvement of the inferior articular surface of the posterior horn as well. Minor free edge truncation of the midbody and posterior horn may be post surgical in etiology. Intrasubstance degeneration of the anterior horn, but without significant tear seen. Grade 1 chondromalacia of the lateral facet of the patella. Minor chondral fissuring of the inferior aspect of the medial facet of the patella. Focal severe chondral thinning of the trochlear cartilage. What can you tell me about my condition?

Hello,

The most significant finding in MRI is tearing of articular cartilage - meniscus. The meniscus does not heal spontaneously and thus it needs to be operated. Insertion of material with similar consistency like a cartilage needs to be injected. In addition, there are certain degenerative changes in articular surface of patella.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
