OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Trichomoniasis is a common cause of vaginitis and it is a sexually transmitted infection. Most of infected women don't produce any predominant symptoms. However, some may experience pain and discomfort inside vagina, foul smelly discharge, abdominal pain etc.

TREATMENT: Both of you should take single dose of Metronidazole 2 gm orally and use condom to avoid transmission of infection. Repeat dose may be required in recurrent case.

Maintain genital hygiene properly. Good luck and take care.
