Suggest Treatment For Tumor In Lower Right Lobe Causing Abdominal Swelling

Hello, I was diagnosed with a 4x4cm FNH on my lower right lobe last summer. Around the same time I started suffering from abdominal swelling (persistent - it hasn t ever gone down fully) and digestive problems/bloating. My consultant told me the two were unrelated but I not convinced. IBS treatment and cutting out certain foods (gluten. Milk) has not helped at all. Is it worth pursuing to get a second opinion on whether it is being caused by the FNH? I m sick of looking pregnant!

Hi,

Focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) is a common benign liver tumor that rarely causes symptoms. However, in some cases, it can cause abdominal swelling or pain. It is possible that your abdominal swelling could be related to the FNH, but it is also possible that it could be due to other factors, such as IBS or food intolerances.

It may be worth seeking a second opinion from a healthcare provider or liver specialist to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and the best course of treatment. In some cases, lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet, exercise, and avoiding alcohol may help to reduce symptoms associated with FNH. In cases where the tumor is causing significant symptoms or is growing larger than 4 to 8 centimeters, doctors may recommend treatment options such as medication, trans-arterial embolization (TACE), or partial hepatectomy surgery to remove the tumor.

It is important to work closely with your healthcare provider to determine the most appropriate course of treatment for your case. They can guide dietary changes, medication, and other treatment options to help manage your symptoms and improve your overall health.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
