Suggest Treatment For Two Lumps On Both The Sides Of Cervical Spine
For the past 3 months I have been struggling with new onset of extreme headaches and neck pain. When they first started, my physician ruled out a Pituitary Adenoma and my MRI came back negative. Recently, my neck pain has gotten significantly worse and I have noticed there are two tight lumps on either side of my cervical spine...about an inch below the base of my skull. They almost feel like knots in the muscle, but to the touch they seem to extend from the spine. I have also experienced intermittent tingling down my left arm I don t have a history of migraines or neck pain. This is all new for me. I am a new nurse and these symptoms do affect my career. Thank you!
The narrated lumps on sides of cervical spine do indicate possible benign condition of various types. The common one being facet hypertrophy of cervical spine, transverse process or else. Many times, a recent loss of body weight, wasting of muscles or subcutaneous fat suggest palpable bony eminences which may be non specific rather than worrisome cancer or others.
However, provision of previous reports as attachment during follow up discussion is best recommended at this stage.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
