Suggest Treatment For Two Ruptured Discs In Lower Back And Painful Knees

hi. I need surgery on two ruptured discs in my lower back. I believe I also tore a ligament in my knee. I m devastated because I ve been through thirty years of car accidents, 300 days in the hospital and 3 neck fractures. Would the knee surgery be performed first? And, how could I go through rehab when my back (which was injured first and caused me to fall) is so badly injured? Thank you, Pam

Hello,

Well, if there is nerve damage and spinal compression, then surgery is usually recommended to prevent paralysis.

Which surgery is done and when is on the basis of a lot of individual considerations we just cannot do unless in person.

Therapy on lower limbs involves support and it doesn't matter that much about the back in general.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman
