Suggest Treatment For Uncontrolled Shivering In A Person

My husband had a bout of uncontrollable whole body, violent shivering today, teeth chattering, could n t get it under control He recently had a disc implant in his neck and an L4-5- disc surgery. He has had several severe muscle cramps recently. He is now sleeping and I wonder if these symptoms might both be related to his neck and back surgery or some kind of neurological problem. Shivering lasted approximately 10 minutes. It was 72 degrees in our house but he felt freezing. Neurological?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Shivering along with muscle spasm suggest high grade fever. Viral infections can cause high grade fever with muscle spasm. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and symptomatic treatment. The symptoms are not likely to be neurological.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
