Suggest Treatment For Undescended Right Testicle Causing Pain And Discomfort
Hi, this is a matter that s concerned my whole life. I m a 19 year old male. My right testicle has yet to fully descend into my scrotum. It used to not be visible at all, and when I was young I thought I was born without it. Only in the past few years, it has somewhat descended. When it is not visible, it often causes me pain and discomfort. I wonder if it will ever fully descend into my scrotum on it s own, or if I will have to have some sort of procedure. I ve wanted to find an answer, and I thought about asking my family doctor but I am too embarrassed. I ve never even talked to my parents about it. Any answers or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I understand this can be an embarrassing thing to talk to your parents but it is important that you have a visit with a doctor and consider removing the undescended testicle.
Undescended testicles tend to have a much higher rate of testicular cancer and it is recommended to have them removed if they do not descent within the first two years of life or not surgically relocated in the first few years of life. So, it is very important that you have checks and have the test removed.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
