Suggest Treatment For Uneven Skin Tone

I have uneven skin tone so i am quite dark in certain places like my legs, my back on one of my arm which is fully dark then a bit fair (my skin colour) from the elbow down. I was born dark but the doctor had told my mum that my skin will lighten itself with time. I am 23 now and certain areas have remained dark. I wanted to know if that will ever go away and if there is a way to get rid of it.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Excessive exposure to sun can lead to darkening of skin. Use of sun screen while going out in sun will protect from darkening of skin. In case darkening is not due to exposure to sun, cosmetic treatments are available to reduce melanin in skin. You can consult a skin specialist for the cosmetic treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
