Suggest Treatment For Unsuccessful Total Knee Replacement

10 year old total knee replacement appears to be failing (can hardly walk). Dr. who did the surgery has ordered a bone scan and CBC, ESR, CRP blood test .Would my being 80 years old prompt this type of test suspecting cancer of the bone? Two years ago I had prostrate cancer cured with radiation.
