Suggest Treatment For Upper Abdominal Pain

I fell backwards down a flight of stairs 2 weeks ago. My back obviously is bruised with some muscle strain. But, I have felt nauseous and extremely bloated for the past week or so. It is a full pain constantly in the upper part of my abdominal cavity. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Bloating, nausea and pain in the upper abdomen (epigastrium), may be related to gastritis or reflux.
It can also be due to intolerance to some foods or use of gas producing foods.

It may not be related to the fall 2 weeks ago. If any abdominal structures were damaged, it would be those that are further in the back- pancreas, kidneys etc, not usually the stomach

Treatment of your symptoms would involve: (a) reducing any gas producing foods such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, turnips, beans, carbonated drinks, prunes, brussel sprouts

(b)avoiding spicy/acidic/fatty or fried foods

(c)using medications such as zantac, pepcid, nexium, prilosec, prevacid, protonix etc to help

I hope this helps
