I saw a physician on Friday who said I have a severe upper respiratory infection. He prescribed anti biotics, 2 tylenol, 2 ibuprofen, Advair and a nasal spray. Now I still have a sore throat, coughing, and a tongue that feels like dry sandpaper. I would have thought the antibiotics would have made me better by now.
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion you should start antihistamine drugs also. It is first line treatment for upper respiratory tract infection ( URTI ). Also start following things along with drugs for better symptomatic relief. 1. Drink plenty of fluids. 2. Avoid oily and spicy food. 3. Avoid hard to chew foof. 4. Warm water gargles 5 - 6 times a day. Don't worry, you will be alright.
