Suggest Treatment For Upper Respiratory Infection

Hi I am a 32 yrs. female type 1 diabetic I have a upper respiratory infection according to the clinic that I went to yesterday. Since my visit my chest feels like an elephant is sitting on it, I don t have a fever, and I have an unproductive cough, my heart rate resting is between 96-112, if I walk short distance it increases 115-130. Do you think I should be seen again? Is this normal?

Hi,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of upper respiratory infection which seems to be pharyngitis. I would suggest you start with a course of antiviral along with anti-inflammatory medications for upper respiratory tract infection. Do warm saline gargles 3-4 times a day with lukewarm water. Take a diet rich in fruits rich in vitamin C as it will boost your immunity. If symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection keep on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined to rule out any underlying medical condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
