Suggest Treatment For Upper Respiratory Infection

6 days ago I contracted a cold, I ve been using zinic tablets, cough drops, niquil. The symptems persisit. Chest congestion, cough - some productive in producing mucus & some are not productive. I find it difficult to sleep, feel warm but no temperature. Could this be upper respitory infection? Is there an over the counter remedy that works?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have upper respiratory infection which seems to be due to viral pharyngitis which is a matter of definite concern. I would suggest you to start with course of antiviral and anti-inflammatory drugs for upper respiratory tract infection. Do warm saline gargles 3-4 times a day with lukewarm water. Take diet rich in fruits rich in vitamin C as it will boost your immunity. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly. Avoid outside food.
