Suggest Treatment For Urethral Caruncle

I have a urethral caruncle. I am 57 and use estrace cream to diminish burning and heal the tissues. I have painful intercourse as in a searing burning sensation and it feels like its in the area of the caruncle. Have you heard of this and what can be done medically or surgically to remedy this.
My mother who is 81 has a caruncle also and is having surgery on hers in a week....she has experienced bleeding. What will the urologist do to hers to fix her problem?? Thanks
