Suggest Treatment For Urticaria And Itchy Hives

My husband was exposed to diesel and hydraulic fumes at the place he worked for 12-13 yrs. He now has lots of health issues, such as chronic urticaria, fatigue, itching from hives, burning skin on palms of hands and soles of his feet, dementia, tremors, essential tremors, and myoclonus. Is there a link of how to test for those chemicals? If we can prove it was work related, I can get him money that he will need for treatment. Also is there a link to auto immune disorders and toxic exposure? They keep treating him for an allergic reaction and all it does is mask the symptoms. Would appreciate all help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As first-line management, you can take drugs like cetirizine for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
