Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Bleeding And Soreness After Intercourse
I had a hysterectomy when I was 23. I am now 39. I have never had symptoms until now. Sex with my husband leads to bleeding and incredible soreness and redness for at least a week after. Is this due to lack of estrogen or could it possibly be something else?

It is likely due to vaginal dryness as a result of decreased estrogen. Blood levels for reproductive hormones can be assessed.
Abnormalities of the cervix, if it is still present, can also cause this problem. This can be ruled out with a pap smear.
Using a lubricant should help to decrease this problem.
