Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Bleeding Of Clots And Pelvic Pain

Hi, I m a 61 yr old female who had her last period when I was 52.. I started bleeding this morning. I had no symptoms other than mild pelvic pain.. The bleeding has dime sized blood clots, and smaller clots..the bleeding was like I was having a period ..it has lasted about fifteen hrs. The clotting stopped after about ten to twelve hrs..I am very concerned.. My last Pap test was June 2014 and was normal..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I share your concern
this could be due to cervical or endometrial carcinoma it can be related to uterine fibroid or STI
in my opinion you should consult a gynaecologist for examination and a battery of tests like blood profile serum markers for gynaecological cancer and ultrasound or hysteroscopy

your pap smear was normal in Jun last year it's been more then 6 months you have to repeat it to rule out above mentioned conditions

I hope you will find my response helpful stress free
wishing you good health
