Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Bleeding With Stomach Pain After An Abortion
Hello, Doctor I have a question.. I am 21, my health is fine, never had any problem. I did vacuum abortion (7 week of pregnancy). And It stopped bleeding in the next 8 hours. And there wasn t any bleeding for 3 days. And then, I got some pain in my stomach and now dark, close to brown, blood is coming out and not continuously, just any time it wants. Pain is light, and bleeding is not big. I will go to doctor in the next 3 days, but still I would like to know and be prepared.. How is it look like? like symptoms to infection or disease or it can be normal? Thanks a lot, Darya

I have gone through your query and understood the concern. If you underwent the vacuum aspiration under medical surveillance, it is likely to be complete. Yet, as in any abortion process, there is always a possibility of retained products. This can be detected through the trans-vaginal sonogram. Pain is usually observed with uterine involution, infection and retained products. The color of the bleeding suggests altered blood. If there are no pieces in it, it must be just the collection in the uterus that is being expelled now and will subside in a couple of days. Hope you find this information useful.
