Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Itch

4 days ago I started to have a itch when I got home from work I had sex and now I still itch. Just yesterday I took a picture down there and it looks very odd. Like it has bumips and maybe skin was tearing from my scartching. I am pregnant and I just recently had a blood test they told me everything was good. But now I'm worried what can this be. It burns itch and is sore .

Hi,

According to your description there is a possibility of genital infection. The possible steps that can help you are:
- Use vaginal wash with pH 3.5 to 4.5 for local hygiene instead of soap or any disinfectant.
- Avoid scratching as that can lead to scratching - itching - infection cycle.
- Please get examined once by your gynecologist to find out the possible cause of the itching and infection.
- Local and systemic antibiotics can help in relieving the symptoms.

Both the partners should be treated simultaneously to prevent cross infections, better to avoid intercourse for a few days till the symptoms resolve.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
