Suggest Treatment For Varicose Veins During Pregnancy

During my pregnancies with my 3rd and 4th babies I got terrible varicouse veins. Now they are fairly obvious spider veins, but not bulging.They cause pain problems also during my period. Then I have excruciating pain in my legs which lasts for some days.The pain is only slightly eased with pain killers. They don't hurt if I sit with my feet up or put elastic bandages on.Has anyone else experienced this, and do you have any solution? I have spoken to my Dr, but she hasn't heard of it before and just suggested I put my feet up.
