Suggest Treatment For Vertigo And Balancing Issues After A Fall

My balance is troublesome, I just fell again, no injuries this time. Last time, I broke my nose in 3 places - not happy with a large bump, but that was after the fall, My gait is not normal, I begin to walk faster and leaning forward until I almost fall, so I stop and regroup myself. I ve had vertigo before, but this is way different. My doc here suggested parkinsons and normal lpressure hydrocephalus. ??? I had an MRI and they found two large areas of fluid.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

We have to rule out possible causes like middle ear injury or mastoid fracture. As a first line management drugs like betahistine can be taken. If symptoms persists better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
