Suggest Treatment For Vertigo And Fluid Buildup In Inner Ear

Dr. Rynne, Isn t there a treatment for vertigo and imbalance of the fluid of the inner ear which involves having the patient, with instruction, actually rebalance said fluid themselves by manipulating the head and neck by turning the head from side to side while walking slowly?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of vertigo and fluid buildup in inner ear which seems to be due to inner ear infection, labyrinthitis and due to some kind of growth in middle ear.

Need not to worry. For now

- Take proper rest and do not bend forward as it will cause fluid imbalance.

- Do light exercise and drink green tea with ginger thrice a day and drink lots of fluids like juices and water .

- Avoid caffeine product.

You should not ignore this , because sometimes the condition get complicated. You should start with antibiotics, steroids and labyrinthine sedatives for 3-4 weeks. You should do vestibular rehabilitation exercises.

You should consult with your ENT specialist once and get evaluated. Doctor may order audiometry test and tuning fork test and treat it accordingly. You should go for X-ray and Mri scan of inner ear.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
