Suggest Treatment For Vertigo When Diagnosed With A Parapharyngeal Tumor

I have been diagnosed with a parapharyngeal tumor but have not had it scanned in two years. I have been experiencing vertigo for the last week. Could the tumor have grown and be causing this bout of vertigo? Thank you for your attention to my question.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

How big is the tumor? If it as big as to cause eustachian tube block may lead to vertigo and tinnitus. Other possibilities like BPPV, vestibular neurinitis or labyrinthitis etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet vertin 16 mg thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
