Suggest Treatment For Vertigo

I have had an angiogram 2 day ago and during the proceedure the room started spinning and I can only describe a vertigo attack. It lasted about a minute and I was reasured that it was proably due to lying down so long. However I am still getting these episodes when ever I rise from a sitting position or even when I turn over in bed. Is this a reaction to the dye used and will it pass. I have never suffered from this before.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Vertigo developed during angiography indicates one of the following:
- Coincidental happening of vertigo that had to be started during the procedure.
- Another possibility is temporary reduction of blood pressure with preexisting vertebral artery insufficiency instigating vertigo.
- Fluid imbalance in semicircular canals in middle ear.
- Problem with cerebrum or cerebellum.
- Cervical spondilitis.
- BEnign positional vertigo.

This can be diagnosed by getting a general check-up say for neurological evaluation, blood pressure, cardiac evaluation and so on. While doing this, a specific cause may be found clinically so that we can go for further specific investigations and thus go for specific treatment to get good results.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
