I was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis on July 5th... It took a few weeks before I actually started feeling well again.... Then on August 15th... It was back again,, extreme vertigo, nauseated, ringing in my ears. My doctor put me on prednisone for 10 days which made me feel terrible but I did finish the full prescription... This was a week ago... My head still feels very hazy and I m not well yet... I am going for an mri in October.. Will this ever go away? Thank you for your time.. Debbie I m sorry I didn t realize there was a fee .... Thank you very much anyway ....
Understanding your concern. As per your query you vestibular neuritis . process of elimination is often necessary to diagnose the condition. Because the symptoms of an inner ear virus often mimic other medical problems, a thorough examination is necessary to rule out other causes of dizziness, such as stroke, head injury, cardiovascular disease . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe anti-emetics ,vestibular suppressants , meclizine , lorazepam , diazepam , steroid and if virus infection is suspected, a medication called acyclovir or a relative may be used . Sometimes vestibular therapy may be recommended . For now do not bend forward , do relaxing exercises and drink green tea thrice a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
