Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has been suffering from violent tremors for the past 3 weeks. I had him to the ER - they said he needed to see a neurologist, but he can t get in until July 7th....it is very embarrassing for him - it happens almost all of the time, and when he is in public, people stare at him.
What is the age of your husband? Is there any loss of consciousness while tremor? Possible causes are like functional tremors or alcohol withdrawal tremors or parkinsonism or seizure disorders. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Propronolol 40 mg once a day for one week. It is useful for functional tremor. But please consult with your neuro-physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
