Suggest Treatment For Vitiligo

Hello. I am a 23 year old female from south Asia. I have had vitiligo since I was 5. Vitiligo is growing rapidly all over my body and face. I want to get rid of all melanin from my body to get an even complexion. How can this be done? And what are the side effects of such treatment?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain depigmentation of the remaining skin patches that have not been affected by vitiligo is only advised in case if you have a widespread white patches or areas of depigmentation and it needs a proper clinical evaluation by an expert dermatologist who can advise you that whether you can proceed with depigmentation treatment or you should treat vitiligo to regain pigmentation..
In case if you have widespread depigmentation then you can be advised to apply a topical medication known as Monobenzone over the pigmented areas of skin and it will help in depigmenting those areas too and gradually the colour will start merging with the deigmented areas or vitiligo patches..
Although this method of depigmentation is permanent but tis medication can have side effects like rashes, inflammation, urticaria or itching and drying of skin..
Therefore it can be done only under a trained dermatologist and never try to do on your own..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
