Suggest Treatment For Weakness In The Legs And Palpitations

I have BPH and I take Flomax, it works well to help me empty my bladder. However when I take it I experience leg weakness, and what feels like my heart is racing. I also experience anxiety, almost like you feel after a close call with something that can cause harm. Wondering what other drug I could try? Thanks

Hi,

You are right. One common side effect of tamsulosin is a weakness. Unfortunately, there is not a good alternative to it, but we suggest people take the drug at bedtime just before sleep. Hopefully, the side effects would be less this way. You should carefully watch it. If still, the problem persists then ask your doctor for further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
