I use a cpap at night. I sanitized the heater pot, tube and nasal mask with diluted bleach water last night. I rinsed with water and I shook out the excess and somewhat air dried the parts. (I also went overboard with straight bleach cleaning the bathroom and rinsing with water). I put just a little distilled water in the heater pot, and the odor wasn t too bad when I went to sleep. Note: I usually fill the heater pot, but didn t have a lot of distilled water on hand. I may have put too much in bleach in the water in the bathroom sink with water, but thought I had it rinsed off. Anyway, an hour and a half later, I woke up not feeling right. I felt lightheaded and short of breath a little. I am otherwise healthy 45 y.o. female. I do have mild reactivity to cold air, vigorous exercise and bronchial infections. I used my albuterol inhaler once, then again an hour an one half later with improved flows. No sputum. I napped for another hour and one half (without the cpap). A few hour later, my oxygen level is fine, but I have a sensation in my lungs that don t go away...like the bronchial tree is irritated. I am using my albuterol mdi just six hours later with minimal wheezes and good air exchanged. I still don t feel great overall. I called my doctor s nurse, but she hasn t gotten back with me yet so that I would know whether I need to get additional treatment. Are there any other things I should worry about? When I was cleaning full strength on the bathroom I didn t were gloves and it took multiple hand washings and a few hours for my hands to quit emitting bleach odor.
