Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a white spot on my lip that is slightly raised. It is not round and it is slightly raised. It's on the "wet" part of my lip but on the very edge, so I'd consider it as being inside my lip but you can still kind of see it from the outside when my lips are closed together. It stings a little bit and the area around it is red. I've had it since yesterday and it has not changed in appearance at all. Does this sound like a canker sore or a cold sore?
A white spot on the inner aspect of the lip can be due to causes like an apthous ulcer or a canker sore while can also be due to inflamed minor salivary gland or a clogged salivary gland duct leading to Mucocele formation..
You can gargle with a concentrated salt water solution.. apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the lump.. Do cool compresses..
If it worsen or does not get better consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
