Suggest Treatment For White Spots On The Tonsils

I had two small white spots on my left tonsil...I reached a q tip back there because I ve had strep before and was just curious if I have it again. after a few times poking at it, both white spots fell off. should I still go into my immediate care to check for strep?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. The white spot on your tonsils was a remanant of the strep throat you have had previously. It usually takes some time to heal completely.

There is no need of any antibiotics provided you have taken appropriate treatment for your strept throat. Also if there is any bleeding, pain in tonsils, fever, chills or any other condition then a doctor's visit is warranted.

I suggest you consult a doctor if any of above signs are present or if you havent taken proper treatment for your previous strept throat.
