Suggest Treatment For Whiteheads On The Face

i am 43 of african, inian and caucasian decent. I have dark oily skin on my face. i suffer with white heads in my cheek areas and i am always left with scarring and awful marks. what can you recommend for the whiteheads and then for the black spots. I have used products like, retin A cream and gel 2%, benzac 5%, eldopaque but recently i find that nothong helps

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have whiteheads on face along with black spots and oily skin since long which is very common as white heads and black spots are because of oily skin and clogged pores due to which dead skin and bacteria gets entrapped in them and started causing blockage. I would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing salicylic acid twice a day. You should avoid use of any hard cosmetics on face. You should apply cream containing azelaic acid. You should exfoliate your face twice a week specially with non comedogenic exfoliant. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper checkup and to rule out any underlying disease . Doctor may prescribe antibiotic clindamycin or isotretinoin. You can go for chemical peeling, microabrasion and dermaabrasion as well.
