I have a painful, raw tongue -- an allergy all over that won t stop itching -- have very sleepy early evenings. Tongue, this morning, itching, about two weeks, sleepiness in early evenings, about a month; I don t see how they all can be connected. The itch and rash was caused by taking a new blood sugar med - Glyambi ??? YYYY@YYYY
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of whole body itching which is known as dermatographic urticaria which could be due to increased skin sensitivity and compromised immunity of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to:-
- Apply cold compresses to the affected area .
- Take aspirin or acetaminophen for itchiness and burning sensation.
- Avoid sun exposure.
- Apply broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 even if you are not under sun exposure.
- Drink plenty of water .
- Take over the counter anti allergic drug like benadryl or zyrtec .
If symptoms doesn't get better in 3-4 days consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe steroids or hydroxychloroquine.
